THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH (1976)
Ziggy Stardust falls and can't get up
Cult favorite THE MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH stars David Bowie in his first major film role. Thomas Jerome Newton, a humanoid alien who crash-lands on Earth, seeks a way to ship water back to his drought-ravished home planet. Using advanced technology to patent many inventions on earth, he brings in the big bucks needed to construct his own space vehicle program. Along the way, he falls into human distractions which cause his plans to be dampened. (Trivia note: In a scene in a music store, a poster of Bowie's album Young Americans can be clearly seen.)
