THE NARROW MARGIN (1952)
Tough cop and tough dame take tough train trip
A Chicago mobster's wife is subpoenaed to go to L.A. to testify in Federal court against her husband and his cronies. Not surprisingly, she demands protective custody for the train trip. It’s a case of instant dislike between the tough lady (Marie Windsor, Queen of the B's) and her tough cop-bodyguard (gravel-voiced Charles McGraw). But then something quite surprising happens en route - something that dramatically changes the dynamics of their relationship. THE NARROW MARGIN is a taut noir thriller considered to be one of the best of the genre.
