THE HUCKSTERS (1947)

Darrin Stevens he ain't

Clark Gable plays a cynical adman who clashes with a toadying boss (Adolphe Menjou) and an imperious and sadistic client (Sydney Greenstreet). This movie was made over half a century ago when commercials ran only on radio and people traveled coast-to-coast on trains. Yet, it's surprisingly up-to-date in its view of the dog-eat-dog world of advertising.
