SOMEWHERE IN TIME (1980) Timeless love

I’m a sucker for time travel tales, and one of my favorites – mushy as it is – is SOMEWHERE IN TIME, starring Christopher Reeve. No time-traveling sports car, this movie's "time machine" is simply a young playwright’s fierce will to return to a particular room in a particular hotel on a particular day in the early 1900s. His quest is to capture the heart of an actress (Jane Seymour) whom he has seen twice in the present – once, as a very old woman, and again, as a young actress in a portrait hanging in a hotel. He makes it back to that same hotel years earlier, and she falls for him, too. But the match is not meant to be ... in life.
