THIS ISLAND EARTH (1953)

How to build an Interociter and save a planet

A mysterious catalog arrives at the lab of scientist complete with order forms for strange electronic doodads and instructions for building something called an Interociter. The clever doctor quickly builds what turns out to be a giant videophone, and this earns him a very long-distance call from a high-foreheaded, white-haired dude on a distant planet who congratulates him for his ingenuity and invites him to the planet to do a small chore ... SAVE HIS RACE!!! That’s all I’m going to tell you. Hammy acting and cheesy-looking aliens, but pretty fair special effects and lots of sci-fi fun.
