ALL THE KING’S MEN (1949)

Power corrupts. Absolutely.

ALL THE KING’S MEN is about a fast-talking nobody named Willie Stark(Broderick Crawford) who rises from the mud of the back country of an unnamed Southern state to become state governor (based on Huey P. Long). Along the way, there are lively broads and dead bodies, the misuse of intoxicating substances and power – all of which leading to a Stark conclusion.
