A FEW GOOD MEN (1992)

One of my criteria for a good movie, even one teaming with brat packers and brat pack-style humor, is loving to watch it again and again. A FEW GOOD MEN, about a JAG team's defense of two Marines on trial for their lives, meets that criterion perfectly. Most of the actors in it are excellent (if sometimes brattish), including Tom Cruise, Demi Moore, Keifer Sutherland, Kevin Pollack, J.T. Walsh and Kevin Bacon – and especially good is Jack Nicholson as Col. Nathan R. "You can't handle the truth" Jessep, whose disintegration on the witness stand in the terrific final courtroom scene feels like a tribute to Bogart’s in THE CAINE MUTINEY.
